Our Middle School Track Team had an outstanding performance at State competition this past weekend! State Qualifiers who medaled included Layla B. who earned 3rd in the discus with a throw of 87'3", and the boys 4x4 including Chase M., Joren S., Bobby H. and Sawyer H. who finished 2nd with a time of 4:05.19. Our MMS 7th graders also had an opportunity to experience a bit of camp life last week through a variety of nature/outdoor education classes at Ziegler Park and on our district greenspace. Although unable to experience 6th grade camp last year due to the pandemic, students were finally able to take part in some of the longstanding traditions, educational courses and outdoor activities that are part of the annual camp experience. #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools #cardinalpride
Our MMS 6th graders had an opportunity to experience a taste of camp life last week through a variety of nature/outdoor education classes right in our own ‘backyard’. Despite having to miss out on the normal week-long 6th grade overnight camp adventure this year due to the pandemic, students were able to take part in educational courses and outdoor activities led by many of the same valued instructors who have attended and taught at camp for decades. Thanks to the City of Mayville for allowing us to use Ziegler Park as our very own nature education center throughout the week, as well as to our instructors and staff who made this all possible! #mayvillecardinals #mayvilleschools #cardinalpride

Students have the opportunity to get out of the building and into the local community to experience lifetime activities. Gonzo G., Alexis M. and Alex B. all reeled in a catch, and Maria M. (our foreign exchange student from Italy) went fishing for the first time in her life and this was her first catch! Middle school golf participants competed in the championship on May 16th. Brent S. and Blake P. were 2nd in their section and tied for 5th overall out of 41 teams in the Flyway conference. Austin T. and Joren S. were ranked 8th in their section and tied for 16th out of 41. MHS seniors took part in the annual Cap & Gown Walk at Parkview and MMS this afternoon! Students from both buildings lined the playgrounds to congratulate our graduates and wish them well in their future endeavors! FULL-TIME and PART-TIME CUSTODIANS WANTED! The School District of Mayville is in need of full-time and part-time custodians. Qualifications are: High school diploma or (GED) required; Previous custodial experience preferred but will train the right person; Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to work with minimum supervision; Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; Able and comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while doing custodial work; Ability to operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies. Hours are second shift Monday thru Friday. Starting pay is between $14.00 -$18.50 per hour based on experience. Position starts as soon as possible.
